Purple-Palooza!!

Hey there!! Back with another post for today... this time for the first Less is More challenge of the new year and as my title would suggest we are to use purple on our project.   Ahh...the color purple.   While I'm not a huge fan of purple in general... I do like to use it from time to time when I'm making cards.  I especially like deep rich purples for cardmaking.  Today I used two purple inks, PTI's Plum Pudding and Close to My Heart's Pansy Purple, and a purple cardstock, PTI's Royal Velvet for my card.  The stamps are all from Hero Arts (Carte Postal, Antique Flowers & Butterflies & Luscious Frames).

There isn't a ton of white (or in the case of this card... cream) space, but hopefully there is enough to satisfy Chrissie and Mandi.  I stamped the main image several times on the cream cardstock piece using Plum Pudding ink and then one time on scrap cream cardstock using Pansy Purple.  The Pansy Purple image was trimmed out and adhered as you see.  The "hello" was stamped in black ink to make it stand out more and then a little butterfly was stamped in Plum Pudding, trimmed out and adhered to the card.  A few purple rhinestones finished off the card.

Ahhhh.... Purple, a palette that is mysterious, and yet sublime, it is a colour that is not used often as a primary on cards, I don't know why! It is a complex colour embracing undertones of passionate Red and cool Blue-which conflict, and perhaps this is a message it gives to artists who work with it, personally I love the colour, as I see it as sensual and at the same time spiritual -again the conflict.
I have an aversion to any hostility or rancour, in my life so it is perplexing to me to realise I like Purple.
This explanation does not however explain my thoughts on your creation today. Your Photo is not picking up the purple of your card too well, but aside from that I love your repeated image, and then the butterfly element which adds that necessary dimension to connect with the sentiment, just brilliant.
Smiles:)

Ah Rosemary... the consummate cardmaker!
This is STUNNING!
The use of colour, the added dimension, the brilliant placement... I could go on!
As you say, there isn't a lot of white space it's true, but it's the MOST fabulous card!
Thanks so much
Chrissie

Your card is satisfying to me Rosemary. Whilst I guess the purple isn't predominent, the delicate shades lend themselves to the design perfectly as does the dark card base
Just lovely!

Thank you very much
